Africa-Press – Angola. Luanda’s new provincial governor, Manuel Homem, said Tuesday that he intends to involve citizens in the province’s decision-making process and stresses that he does not bring magic solutions to “suddenly” change the capital’s current scenario.

“We bring with us the desire to work with all the residents of Luanda to build a better future together, one that reflects and contributes to the development of our country”, said Manuel Homem, after receiving the portfolios of the province considered the most complex in terms of concerns management.

Luanda’s new “strong man” also promised to study the creation of a new, more representative model for listening to citizens, which would meet several times a year to discuss and point out solutions that help to improve governance.

“It will be a forum that will have the participation of ordinary citizens, those who live and feel the daily difficulties of the place where they live. We count on them to help us make small decisions with an immediate impact on their lives”, underlined the governor. Manuel Man.

Sworn in last Monday by the President of the Republic, João Lourenço, Manuel Homem is now the 24th governor of Luanda.

The former minister of Telecommunications, Information Technologies and Social Communication replaces Ana de Carvalho, who headed Luanda in the period between 2021-2022.
