Africa-Press – Angola. The first secretary of the Organization of Angolan Women (OMA), in Cunene, Lúcia Yoleny, exhorted women to the responsibility of permanently mobilizing and sensitizing the popular masses for the aggrandizement of the ruling party (MPLA).
Lúcia Yoleny was speaking at the opening of the organization’s IV ordinary meeting, which took stock of the work carried out during the pre-campaign, electoral campaign and fulfillment of the activity plans from March to November of the current year.
According to the OMA leader, the meeting made it possible to improve the work and correct the mistakes that were still committed. She added that the organization’s affairs lack specific treatment, as it is an institution based on the ideological policy of the MPLA, the party that has governed the country since independence.
“OMA’s involvement in the 2022 electoral process was demonstrated by the organization’s resilience, which brought together MPLA and JMPLA militants, supporters and friends, placing the image of the party and the province in an unprecedented history in the country, as it is the only province who won five seats in Parliament”, said the head of the MPLA women’s organization.
He referred that the General Elections of 24 August 2022 were difficult. On the one hand, it was due to the political and economic situation that the country is going through and, on the other, the people of Cunene knew how to deal with the moment and “recognize that the MPLA is and will always be the right choice”.
He stressed that, for this, the leaders have to put the “machine” to work and change the rotation, “because it is up to maintain the tradition that has always characterized the party, with difficulties or not”.
