Africa-Press – Angola. The governor of the province of Luanda, Manuel Homem, guaranteed, this Friday, that the requalification works on the street of the Angola Engineering Laboratory (LEA) will be concluded in the next 45 days.

Speaking to the press, during the visit to evaluate the works to improve tertiary and secondary roads in the country’s capital, he said that the work in progress will allow residents of the area to have better mobility and a more effective wastewater drainage system.

According to the governor, in the area there will also be a deep work for the drainage of rainwater, since in the rainy season there are many constraints for motorists, who had to overcome some potholes.

To avoid problems in the future, Manuel Homem made it known that a water channel is being built to support the natural course, in order to have more durability in the work, after its conclusion.

On the other hand, he informed that in the Urban District of Rangel, the streets of Fundão (in Cês) and Ilha da Madeira (Terra Nova) are being improved, which in the next three months will again be available to citizens.

The program to improve Luanda’s roads, according to the governor, will continue, with the upgrading of other areas in the same region, with a view to making better roads available in the city.

On the occasion, it held a dialogue with the citizens, who asked for the speed of works in progress in their respective locations.

However, the leader explained that they are committed to fulfilling the projects, but that they are of quality, so that the same work will not be repeated in the coming years.

He appealed to citizens not to use the streets for car washing or garbage disposal, behaviors that help to obstruct the sewers, making the water return to the roads, which later end up damaged .

The requalification works on the roads, started last year, in the urban districts of Maianga and Rangel, municipality of Luanda, are the responsibility of MOTA ENGIL and OMATAPALO Engenharia e Construção – SA.
