Works restrict traffic in Luanda

Africa-Press – Angola. Traffic will be restricted on the Viaduct of the Operative Unit, in Luanda, as of Wednesday (2).

The head of the provincial services in Luanda of the National Institute of Roads (INEA), Rosária Kiala, said in an interview yesterday to Rádio Nacional.

INEA, he added, will carry out work to redefine the viaduct’s carriageways, which provide access to the city centre. According to the head of INEA’s provincial services, the work will last two months.

“The Ministry of Public Works and Territorial Planning, through the National Institute of Roads, is promoting works to improve access to the Viaduct of the Luanda Operative Unit, on Avenida Deolinda Rodrigues, Estrada Nacional 230, towards Luanda/Viana, in a extension of 280 meters”, said Rosária Kiala.

According to Rosária Kiala, during the period when the works are being carried out, road traffic will be restricted on one of the lanes towards Viana/Luanda and the other two will be available.

He added that motorists wishing to reach the center of Luanda more easily could use the service road of the Provincial Police Command, passing through Rua das Pedrinhas, in the Urban District of Terra Nova.

“To reduce constraints, motorists who want to reach the city of Luanda more easily will be able to use the service route with the Provincial Command of the National Police”.
