Africa-Press – Angola. Young people from the municipality of Cassongue, in the province of Cuanza-Sul, are anxiously waiting for the second phase of the Integrated Plan for Intervention in Municipalities (PIIM) to include more actions of a social nature, aimed at improving the supply of basic social goods and services, as well as job creation.

Daniel Ângelo, 32, a plumber and service provider in a Chinese company, recognized the importance of the Integrated Plan for Intervention in Municipalities, whose impact, he acknowledges, is reflected in the lives of the population. “I hope that the Government will introduce, in the next phases of the PIIM, projects that meet the needs of young people. Our municipality needs multi-sport courts and leisure spaces”.

Armando Julião, a bricklayer by profession, another young man residing in the municipality of Cassongue, told our report that the PIIM allowed, in a short space of time, to improve the population’s quality of life and minimize the lack of employment. “PIIM is now a benchmark. It should be put to good use by the provincial government to respond to various social problems.”

The young man, who is also a service provider in a Chinese company, defends, in addition to the construction of school and health infrastructures, more projects of social impact in the municipality of Cassongue, aiming at its growth and appreciation of the local workforce. .

Hermenegildo António, a tiler by profession, is one of the workers who is rehabilitating the Cassongue Municipal Hospital, said that the PIIM works are reflected in the improvement of the population’s quality of life, especially young people, many of whom got their first job. “The PIIM brought many gains, because several young people got their first job, due to the execution of social projects, such as the construction of schools, hospitals and health centers. I hope that, in the second phase of the PIIM, more jobs can be created and quality basic social services”.

It should be noted that the municipality of Cassongue was contemplated, in a first phase, with the implementation of seven PIIM projects, at provincial and municipal levels, in the sectors of Education, Health and basic sanitation.
