Africa-Press – Angola. The bishop of the Eastern Angola Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church left, yesterday, in Malanje, a message for young people who are going to vote for the first time. José Quipungo urged them to be more careful, warning them not to be deceived by pretty words uttered by political formations competing in the General Elections on the 24th.
“Young people need to seriously reflect and see that the vote is worth the peace and tranquility of the country. Therefore, our vote must be given consciously and secretly. The Angolan population must elect the right candidate, the one who will lead the country and elect deputies to the National Assembly.” According to the Methodist bishop, the elections “are not an end in themselves, because the country has a journey, it has a journey”.

University professor Anabela Kidiaco highlighted that the five years of MPLA governance had positive effects, particularly for Malanje province, with the implementation of some actions, with emphasis on the social sector.

Highlighting the importance of voting, Anabela Kidiaco praised the political maturity with which the electoral process is taking place. She spoke of the behavior of voters in Malanje province, which has been exemplary and is looking forward to exercising the right to vote on the 24th of this month.
