Africa-Press – Angola. A total of 38 young people completed, yesterday, in the village of Cacuaco, in Luanda, the first cycle of training of community supervisor, with a view to promoting social development and the well-being of citizens in the communities.

The course, with a duration of 25 days and a workload of 168 hours, which took place at the National School for the Training of Social Service Technicians (ENFOTSS), had 14 modules.

During the training, the participants addressed, among other topics, “The work of the Community Development Agent for the Promotion of Behavior Change”, “Municipalization of Social Action”, “Maternal Monitoring by the Agent” and “Monitoring of Newborns by Adecos ”, “Adecos Child Monitoring” and “Adecos Monitoring in the Control and Prevention of Major Diseases”.

The director general of ENFOTSS, Manuel Cafussa, mentioned that, during the 25 days of training, there was an intense sharing of knowledge, experiences and good practices that generated countless knowledge, based on the manipulation of training techniques and instruments in the form of dialogues, as intended in the communities.

Manuel Cafussa revealed that, alongside Luanda, training activities were also held in the provinces of Zaire and Cuanza-Norte.

The Secretary of State for the Administration of the Territory, Teresa Quivienguele, stressed that the training of the Adecos is highly strategic for the development of communities, as they are the ones who will start working in the micro-areas.

“In this way, they start to provide regular and daily assistance to each of the households, identifying their difficulties and situations of vulnerability, risks that, after all the information has been collected, are forwarded to the institutions of law at the local level, to their proper treatment”, he explained.

Currently, the Secretary of State said, the country has more than 4,500 agents, which he considered to be transforming communities. “The Adecos monitor the most burning situations and bring social services to communities, in order to prevent the main diseases and socially protect families”, she highlighted.

As for the funding of Adecos, he said that the situation is being addressed at the level of several ministerial departments, with emphasis on Health, Social Action, Family and Women Promotion and Territory Administration, through the Social Support Fund (FAS) .
