Africa-Press – Angola. The provincial commander of the National Police in Zaire, commissioner Firmino Uyamba, asked this Wednesday, in Mbanza Kongo, the corporation’s staff to be more dynamic in guaranteeing public safety and tranquillity.
The also delegate from the Ministry of the Interior was speaking at the opening ceremony of the day alluding to the 28th of February, the day of the National Police.
He said, on the occasion, that an agent of the National Police must be endowed with knowledge, intellectual capacity, professionalism, acting correctly and firmly in the maintenance of public order.
“By commemorating this date, we are called to reflect not only on the past, but on the present and the path we still have to travel towards the excellence of our missions”, he reinforced.
He assured that he was working to reinforce the police presence in some communes in the region, with the aim of combating common crimes that have been registered in recent times in those areas.
He listed robberies, thefts, sexual violations, physical aggressions as being the most common in rural areas of the province, stressing that the situation is under the control of the police authorities who rely on the denunciation of the people.
He reported on several ongoing projects in the region aimed at improving the accommodation conditions of the different bodies of the MININT delegation, framed in the Integrated Intervention in Municipalities Programs (PIIM) and Public Investments (PIP) of the provincial government.
The commemorative day of the National Police Day takes place under the motto: “National Police, 47 Years Firm in the Guarantee of Peace, Tranquility and Public Safety, and includes various activities, with emphasis on lectures on road accidents, cleaning campaigns, blood donation , visits to the media, among other events.
