Africa-Press – Angola. The Special Economic Zone (ZEE) and the Free Trade Zone of Barcelona signed a memorandum of understanding that aims to create a strategic alliance to support the activities of the two economic zones, as well as the joint exploitation of cooperation in structural projects of international scope .

According to a note from the ZEE,on Monday, the document was signed by the director general of the Free Trade Zone of Barcelona, ​​Blanca Sorigué, and by the President of the Board of Directors of the ZEE, Manuel Francisco Pedro , in an act witnessed by the Angolan ambassador to the Kingdom of Spain, Alfredo Dombe.

This memorandum, reads in the report, was one of the highlights of Angola’s participation in “SIL Barcelona”, the main Spanish-speaking fair in the world on Logistics and Transport, and which has become a reference for all countries in southern Africa. Europe and the Mediterranean.

Organized by the “Consorci de la Zona Franca de Barcelona (CZFB)”, SIL Barcelona brought together over three days, from the 7th to the 9th of June, more than 12,000 participants representing around 650 companies, 40% of them international, and included more than 250 events such as lectures, debates and multi and bi-lateral meetings.

The Angolan delegation, led by the CEO of the Luanda-Bengo ZEE, also included the Executive Administrator of Barra do Dande, Adilson Catala, and the Administrator of the Regulatory Agency for Certification and Logistics in Angola, Maria de Lourdes Bravo, had the opportunity to establish contacts with more than 150 novelties of technological solutions, innovations and specialized services in the area of ​​logistics, transport, intra-logistics and distribution.

Members of the Angolan delegation also participated in one of the debate panels at SIL Barcelona 2023, under the theme “Opportunities to Invest in Angola in the logistics platform”, in which it was possible to share a set of opportunities that the country has in terms of logistics platforms , and present the macro-economic environment suitable for investment, as well as the respective legal framework, more attractive and protective of foreign investment, public or private.
