At the meeting, chaired by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Téte António, as vice-chairman of the Committee, which took place on the sidelines of the 41st ordinary session of the Executive Council of the African Union, the participants also analyzed the pending elections and the candidates for be endorsed. Angolan professor Sebastião da Silva Isata is a candidate to be a member of the Consultative Committee of the United Nations Council, for the period 2023-2025. The Committee also discussed the launch of an electronic portal to make the process of submitting applications by Member States more efficient and transparent. Angola serves as 2nd vice-chairman of the African Union Ministerial Committee on International Candidates, while Equatorial Guinea chairs this body, and Djibouti is 1st vice-chair.
