Africa-Press – Botswana. Precious Cornerstone School’s management and students are in high spirits following the just released 2023 Junior Certificate Examination (JCE) results.

The school delivered stellar performance, achieving a remarkable 92 per cent pass rate, representing a significant increase from the impressive 80 percent recorded in 2022.

In addition to the accomplishment, the school has maintained 100 per cent pass rate in the Primary School Leaving Examinations for the past three years, solidifying its position as a leading educational institution in the country since 2021.

Reflecting on the success, Ms Jennifer Wahome, the school’s founder and headteacher, credited the remarkable achievements to the unwavering commitment, perseverance, and hard work of the JC class of 2023.

“My heartfelt gratitude goes out to the JC class of 2023. Their dedication, perseverance, consistency, and intentional efforts have truly paid off, resulting in outstanding performance,” she said.

Apart from her role as the school’s founder and headteacher, Ms Wahome, an educator specialising in Mathematics, prefers to be addressed simply as ‘Teacher Jennifer.’

Ms Wahome also expressed the school’s pride in contributing to the development of responsible future leaders and its commitment to addressing societal challenges that hindered students’ learning experiences.

Since the establishment of the secondary school in 2021, it has adopted a child-centered approach, focusing on student autonomy and self-directed learning.

This approach, she said centered on the child as the primary beneficiary, with the teacher serving as a facilitator, providing resources, guidance, and support.

“The school places significant emphasis on mentorship and maintaining close relationships with students, parents, and teachers from the moment learners join the school,” said Ms Wahome.

Teachers ensure that tasks were completed, assignments submitted on time, and that students’ learning progress is monitored, she said.

Ms Wahome underscored the school’s serious commitment to education, revealing that students, parents, and teachers enter into contracts to fulfill the requirements necessary for extraordinary academic performance.

Precious Cornerstone School was established in 2015, initially admitting primary school students and introducing the secondary school level in 2021.
