Africa-Press – Botswana. Botswana was represented at the 2nd Annual She Strives & Thrives: Women in Suits, Heels & Deals networking brunch to be held in Johannesburg on Saturday.
The high-level forum brings together over 100 women leaders from across Southern Africa to share knowledge, build partnerships, and strengthen women-led enterprises.
Among those representing Botswana are Ms Lesego Segokgo, a wellness coach and entrepreneur, and Ms Teboho Maseko, a financial strategist. Both women are part of a growing movement of Batswana professionals engaging in cross-border economic and leadership platforms.
Ms Segokgo said in an interview that she was looking forward to the exposure and exchange of ideas offered by forum. “Being part of this gathering means connecting with other women who are passionate about business and transformation. I hope to return with new networks, fresh ideas, and renewed energy for my work,” she said.
Ms Maseko on the other hand believed the event would unlock new possibilities.
“This is an opportunity for us to tap into broader markets, and to learn from industry leaders who have built sustainable models. I’m especially keen to explore collaborative finance opportunities for SMMEs,” she told BOPA.
Hosted by Divine Women Empowerment International (DWE), the event is themed “Women in Suits, Heels & Deals” and targets women in industries such as construction, tax, healthcare, real estate, and investment.
DWE Public Relations Officer, Ms Oonikho Zilwa said in an interview that the brunch was more than just a networking event. “It’s a platform designed to spark dialogue, inspire leadership, and create room for women across the region to thrive together,” she said.
DWE is led by founder Ms Carol Lourel Mhlarhi, widely known as the “Boss Lady in Heels,” who has empowered women through mentorship, events, and spiritual coaching.
The participation of the Botswana delegation reflects the country’s growing engagement in regional leadership and business development platforms, particularly those focused on women empowerment and entrepreneurship.
