Africa-Press – Botswana. Bobirwa MP, Mr Taolo Lucas will continue in his appointment as acting Leader of opposition as the First Session of the 13th Parliament, also referred to as the Winter Meeting commenced on Monday.
A press release from the Parliament states that the Leader of Opposition and Maun North MP, Mr Dumelang Saleshando’s medical leave, has been extended to ensure a full and safe recovery, hence will resume official duties on July 16. The release further states that Mr Saleshando is responding well to recovery care and continues to improve each day.
Meanwhile, a separate press release, also from the Parliament says, it is estimated that the Winter Meeting will last for about six weeks and will end on or before August 15. The meeting will primarily focus on the introduction and presentation of bills, says the release. It also states that the Winter Meeting will in addition, feature other key parliamentary business, including questions and motions.
