President Advocate Duma Gideon Boko returned to Gaborone on 28th September 2025 following a productive working visit to New York, United States, where he participated in the 80th Session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA 80). The historic session marked the 80th anniversary of the United Nations under the theme “Better Together. 80 Years More for Peace, Development and Human Rights.”
During his visit, President Boko delivered his maiden address to the General Assembly, reaffirming Botswana’s commitment to multilateralism, sustainable development, human rights, and global peace. His speech highlighted Botswana’s active role in promoting cooperation and advancing international priorities that benefit both the region and the world.
