Africa-Press – Botswana. Japan and Botswana renewed their commitment to stronger bilateral ties during a working dinner in Tokyo. Japan’s Foreign Minister Toshimitsu Motegi hosted Botswana’s Vice President and Finance Minister Ndaba Nkosinathi Gaolathe. The meeting marked Mr. Gaolathe’s second visit to Japan in 2024. Both leaders viewed the upcoming 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations as a valuable chance to expand cooperation.
Mr. Motegi welcomed the continued engagement between the two countries. He stated that the anniversary offers a strategic moment to set new priorities and drive long term collaboration. Mr. Gaolathe thanked Japan for its hospitality and for maintaining steady support over many years. He highlighted the importance of stable partnerships that help Botswana meet its national goals.
