Africa-Press – Botswana. The Botswana Examinations Council (BEC) has released the 2025 Primary School Leaving Examinations (PSLE) results, indicating an improvement in academic performance compared to the previous year.
A press release from the BEC says a total of 52 766 candidates wrote the 2025 examination, which was a decrease in candidature of 0.51 per cent from the 2024 candidature of 53 039.
The release says the 2025 cohort had 26 533 (50.28 per cent) males and 26 233 (49.72 per cent) females who outperformed their male counterparts in all subjects.

It further says only 13 candidates were declared unclassified – denoted by letter U- while 34 candidates could not reach requirements for the award of a grade, denoted by letter X, which was mostly caused by absenteeism of candidates from the examination.
