Africa’S Energy Sector Strengthened

Africa-Press – Botswana. From November 4 to 8, the Cape Town International Convention Centre will host the African Energy Week. A Russia-Africa roundtable is scheduled for November 6. It will focus on opportunities for Russian companies in the African energy sector and strategic areas of cooperation between Russia and the continent.

The Russian delegation at the AEN 2024 will be headed by Russian Deputy Energy Minister Roman Marchavin, according to a statement from Roscongress, a partner of the event.

Several Russian companies will participate, including gas giant Gazprom, oil producer Lukoil, oil and gas equipment manufacturer Uralhimmash, as well as state-owned Sberbank.

“Russia occupies a leading position among the world’s largest energy systems in terms of low-carbon electricity generation, which is particularly important for African partners,” Russian Presidential Advisor Anton Kobyakov said.

“In the future, cooperation with Russia will only help strengthen Africa’s energy sector,” said NJ Ayuk, Executive Chairman of the African Energy Chamber.
