Africa-Press – Botswana. Air Botswana has launched the mobile App and whatsApp customer lines in an effort to show commitment in engaging customers and advancing quality service.
Launching the mobile App at Boipuso Hall at the ongoing Botswana Consumer fair yesterday, Air Botswana acting general manager, Ms Masego Mookodi, said that digital transformation was a strategic imperative that would create value for customers while at the same time improving business performance and operational efficiencies.
“We have realized that our customers are increasingly calling for digital solutions to conduct their travel needs in a fast, efficient and seamless manner thus the App,” she said.
Ms Mookodi stressed that it was important for customers to be able to reach them and in turn receive the desired services at every point of contact hence the new digital additions.
“Today’s customer needs a one-stop shop, where they can book and pay while on the move, therefore these Apps will give customers convenience, and a much quicker and hassle-free service that is available 24 hours of the day, anywhere in the world,” she said.
Ms Mookodi added that through the WhatsApp line, customers could get a wide range of travel services including; inquiries, schedules, bookings, cargo and other services.
Air Botswana’s Acting Board Chairman, Ms Keamogetse Mpudi, said that this year at the 2023 Skytrax Awards, Air Botswana emerged as the second-best airline in the region and simultaneously ranked one of the top 10 airlines in Africa.
Ms Mpudi said it was therefore necessary to sustainably navigate the changing market needs and tap on both existing and new opportunities for improved customer satisfaction and service delivery.
