Africa-Press – Botswana. A Marobela native, Agang Magada has been nominated for an award at the 30th Annual Gospel Music Awards in Atlanta, United States of America (USA) under the category of ‘Best in poetry, songs and spoken words’.

Magada is a chart-topping, award winning minister, singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and also a music producer. He established himself as a solo act in 2006 with his first album titled ‘Silent No More’, which consists of songs such as ‘Lefika Laka’, ‘Chaba’ and ‘Africa’, among others that became crossover hits on local radio stations.

In 2018, Magada released another album titled ‘Phenyo’ which topped the nation’s gospel and sacred music charts, and also won him an award of ‘Best Artist with Disability’ at the Botswana Gospel Music Association Awards in 2023.

Speaking to BOPA, Magada stated that he nurtured his talent at 18 years when he began to sing and tour internationally on the church circuit with his local Charismatic Church, were he learned to compose poems and songs. He further stated that in 2013, he went on to found and serve in Kingdom Marshalls International, Semotswane, Botswana, a non-profit organisation that addresses the spiritual needs of men, women and children.

Magada requests for a sponsorship of P57 500 for him to be able to attend the 30th Annual Gospel Music Awards in United States of America on June 28-29. He states that he is not only nominated for the award, but will also be performing alongside other nominees during the event.
