Africa-Press – Botswana. Botswana Telecommunications (BTC) officially opened its second store in Francistown on Saturday, a move praised by the mayor as a contributor towards reviving the town’s economy.
Mr Gaone Majere said the store presented opportunities for employment, a much needed development in the city.
It is important for the business community to collaborate with the government, to improve the quality of lives, he said.
He also acknowledged BTC’s initiatives that supported local businesses, particularly their involvement in the upcoming Francistown BTC Marathon scheduled for next month and which he encouraged residents to participate.
Mr Majere pledged to support initiatives directed at improving the lives of Francistown residents.
BTC acting CEO, Ms Boitumelo Paya, explained that introducing another store in Francistown was a strategic move to ensure that residents received timely and efficient service.
BTC is committed to deliver excellent services to customers in Francistown and surrounding areas, Ms Paya said.
