Africa-Press – Botswana. The Managing Director of Kgare Insurance Brokers, Ms Tiny Kgatlwane has expressed confidence that Botswana University of Agriculture and Natural Resources (BUAN) will effectively contribute to the vision to make the agriculture sector one of the main contributors to the economy.
Speaking at BUAN’s long service awards ceremony in Gaborone on December 18, Ms Kgatlwane said BUAN was receiving a lot of recognition for the work it was doing for the country.
She said at a time when the country faced a challenge of unemployment among the youth, institutions such as BUAN had to help identify new and untapped areas in which jobs could be created, such as agriculture.
She said BUAN was fortunate to have staff members who had for many years remained dedicated, committed and loyal to the institution.
BUAN Vice Chancellor, Professor Ketlhatlogile Mosepele pointed out that loyalty was not about time spent at an organisation, but about the depth of commitment of an employee.
He said the awards were testament to the remarkable commitment the organisation’s employees made to the past, present and future of BUAN.
He said their level of commitment was what built BUAN and their contribution to its growth was appreciated.
The university recognised employees who served for 10 years, 15 years, 20 years, 25 years and beyond.
