Africa-Press – Botswana. In an effort to address ageing infrastructure and unlock additional capacity, a new Blending and Filling Laboratory is currently under development at the Botswana Vaccine Institute (BVI).
The 2026 budget speech highlights that the investment will significantly increase production capacity, ensure full compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices and enable the diversification of vaccine products, thereby positioning BVI to strengthen regional supply chains and contribute meaningfully to export-led growth. The facility is expected to be completed in the 2026/2027 financial year.
