Africa-Press – Botswana. The Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo has provided the Botswana delegation with invaluable lessons, President Dr Mokgweetsi Masisi has said.
“I want every one of us who went to the show to reflect on the experiences with the view to improve on how we organise these events back home,” President Masisi told the delegation at the show in Texas, United States on Wednesday.
President Masisi said he was impressed by the precision at which everything played out.
“There is so much orderliness. The level of branding and documenting is amazing, just so much to take back home,” he added.
The delegation was equally impressed by the level of organisation and coordination at the show that accommodated people of all ages and different interests.
Some took notice of the exhibition hall that was kept spotless clean.
“We are used to seeing cattle on display in kraals back home, but it’s amazing how everything is placed together with cleanliness being of the highest order,” remarked trade and industry permanent secretary, Ms Malebogo Morakaladi.
The show enabled Botswana Investment and Trade Centre, business people and farmers to network.
The Brahman cattle stalls led by JD Hudgins and Jim Williams families boasted of a large number of visitors per day.
The JD Hudgins, Inc. is a family ranch that has been in operation since 1908 and it provides world class Brahman cattle breeding and genetics globally.
The Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, a Multimillion cultural and economic impacting show is considered Houston’s signature event with a global appeal and reach.
