Africa-Press – Botswana. The Citizen Entrepreneurial Development Agency (CEDA) has launched a new branch in Tutume, bringing services closer to local businesses and aspiring entrepreneurs who previously had to travel to Francistown. The move is expected to strengthen economic empowerment and support job creation in the region.
During the launch, Minister of Trade and Entrepreneurship Tiroeaone Ntsima highlighted the government’s commitment to empowering citizens economically. He noted that CEDA had invested over P150 million in 943 businesses in the area. The agency continues to support start-ups, revive struggling enterprises, and provide opportunities for youth and women to grow sustainable businesses.
Tutume Branch Team Leader Keitumetse Masilompana said her multilingual skills would improve communication with clients in surrounding villages. She added that outreach campaigns would be conducted to raise awareness about the services available to local entrepreneurs.
Local entrepreneur Power Monyamane welcomed the new branch, describing it as a breakthrough. He said easier access to funding and information would help young people pursue their business ideas. He encouraged aspiring entrepreneurs to use the Tutume office to secure support and grow their ventures.
“Start now while you have time to build, repay and expand. The new Tutume office is your gateway to turning ideas into real businesses,” Monyamane said.
The new branch is expected to enhance business development in Tutume and surrounding communities, offering practical support and resources for entrepreneurs and contributing to broader economic growth in the region.
