Africa-Press – Botswana. A Kedia woman recently became the 12th person to receive a house from Choppies Store.

Presenting the house to Ms Goshotwang Mathumo recently, Vice President Slumber Tsogwane commended the company for ploughing back into the community through house donations.

He thanked Choppies for extending a helping hand to the underprivileged members of society.

Mr Tsogwane noted that Ms Mathumo was a widow and had lived in dilapidated house.

The hope was that the house would make a huge impact on Ms Mathumo’s life and that of her family, he said.

Letlhakane Choppies Store Manager, Mr Thabiso Mothatego said his company had high regard for corporate social investment because its continued growth would not have been possible without customer support.

He stated that since the beginning of the year, the company had spent close to P500 000 on housing the underprivileged members of society.

Mr Mothatego said the intention was to make sure that the health, housing and educational needs of Batswana were met in a more sustainable way.

He disclosed that the company had already engaged government on ways of achieving the plan.

The beneficiary thanked Choppies Store for what she termed a magnificent gift which would go a long way in enhancing her dignity.
