Africa-Press – Botswana. Botswana Association of Local Authorities (BALA) in partnership with Ernlet Projects will construct an over P5 million BALA head office in Gaborone.
The project co-financed by BALA and Ernlet is a two storey office building with ground floor reserved for parking, accessed by stairs and elevator.
“BALA will pay an initial deposit to Ernlet Projects who in turn will develop the project to completion, with parties agreeing on a repayment plan of the balance of development cost over a period of five years,” said BALA Project Officer, Mr Godisang Radisigo who is also the Mayor of Francistown during a ground breaking ceremony in Gaborone Friday.
Mr Radisigo said the project which was conceived as a measure to reduce BALA expenditure bill on rentals and to develop an asset base for the association, would be designed, constructed and developed financially by Ernlet Projects with an independent clerk of works to supervise the project.
He said they had outsourced the service of supervision from Mogoditshane/Thamaga District Council.
Ernlet Projects director, Mr Tinashe Chiwara expressed gratitude to BALA for their vision toward the project.
“Your foresight and dedication have been instrumental in shaping the direction of this endeavor, and your commitment to excellence has inspired us to push the boundaries of innovation and creativity,” Mr Chiwara said.
He said the input and feedback they received from BALA had enriched the design and development process, ‘leading to a project that truly reflects their values and aspirations.’
Mr Chiwara promised to deliver a project that surpassed expectations. He said his team’s commitment to excellence, teamwork and collaboration had set standard for what they could achieve together.
“As we break ground today, let us reflect on the journey that has brought us here and look ahead with optimism and determination,” Mr Chiwara said.
He said of key to the project’s sustainability were energy efficiency, renewable energy integration, water conservation, sustainable materials, green spaces and landscaping, waste management and indoor air quality.
“These sustainability initiatives not only align with our commitment to environmental stewardship but also demonstrate our dedication to creating a project that prioritises sustainability, resilience, and responsible resource management,” he said.
