Africa-Press – Botswana. Representatives from nearly 200 countries are now meeting in Sharm el-Sheik, Egypt, to discuss climate change and the fight against global warming, as warnings of disaster multiply.
In what is the 27th United Nations Conference on Climate Change (COP27), which ends on the 18th, more than 35 thousand participants are expected, with 2,000 interventions scheduled on more than 300 topics.
Not many world leaders are expected at the conference in Egypt, although the presence of the President of the United States, Joe Biden, and the British Prime Minister, Rishi Sunak, who initially said he was not present, but who revealed four days ago that will go to Sharm el-Sheikh.
The Vice-President of the Republic of Angola, Esperança da Costa, arrived in Egypt on Saturday to participate in the event, representing the Head of State, João Lourenço.
The last conference, COP26, took place in the United Kingdom, emphasizes Lusa.
