Africa-Press – Botswana. Former students of the DDT College of Medicine have expressed deep gratitude to the Minister of Higher Education, Honourable Prince Maele, and his Ministry for their steadfast support and guidance during prolonged academic challenges.

The students highlighted that during a period marked by emotional and academic distress, the Honourable Minister and his team demonstrated empathy and genuine concern. They offered reassurance and practical guidance, helping students navigate obstacles and safeguard their academic futures.

“The Honourable Minister’s open engagement, willingness to listen, and his fatherly approach in addressing our plight provided immense comfort and hope at a time when we felt helpless,” the students stated.

They further praised the Minister’s collaborative and solution-oriented leadership, describing it as a model of true servant leadership. His approach, they said, fostered trust and encouraged constructive dialogue throughout the resolution process.

The former students also acknowledged the support of citizens of Botswana, who offered encouragement and solidarity from the onset of their struggle. Their backing, combined with the Ministry’s efforts, strengthened the learners’ confidence during challenging times.

In their statement, the students strongly rejected false narratives circulating on social media that alleged harsh actions or calls for police intimidation by the Minister. They clarified that in all interactions, the Honourable Minister treated them with respect, understanding, and a sincere commitment to their welfare and educational rights.

“At all times, the Honourable Minister has treated us with dignity and compassion. The false claims being circulated are baseless and do not reflect the reality of our interactions,” they emphasized.

The former students concluded by expressing optimism that continued collaboration with the Ministry of Higher Education will result in lasting solutions for all affected learners, ensuring that future academic challenges are met with support, fairness, and transparency.
