Africa-Press – Botswana. The Dolphins Women’s Basketball Team, reigning champions of the Botswana Basketball League, have officially qualified for the 2025 African Women’s Basketball League (BAL) to be held in Windhoek, Namibia, from November 6 to 14.
The qualification marks a historic moment for the Gaborone-based club and Botswana basketball as a whole. The Dolphins will represent the nation on one of the continent’s biggest basketball stages, competing against Africa’s top women’s teams for regional supremacy.

The Dolphins secured their BAL slot after dominating the 2025 Botswana Basketball League season, maintaining consistent form and demonstrating superior teamwork on both ends of the court. Minister of Youth, Gender, Sport and Culture, along with officials from the Botswana Basketball Association (BBA), have expressed pride in the team’s achievement. “Put on those blue, black, and white Champs stripes and show Africa how we do it in BW,” the BBA declared in a celebratory message.
