Africa-Press – Botswana. President Dr Mokgweetsi Masisi and First Lady Neo graced a church service at Trinity – UCCSA in Gaborone to celebrate Christmas day.
Delivering the Christmas sermon, Reverent Mompati Aaron said Christmas season was not only symbolic to the birth of Christ, but rather a manifestation of Godâ€TMs love to the world.
“We are not just celebrating the birth of our Lord and Master Jesus Christ, but we are celebrating the manifestation of Godâ€TMs love to his people, for the Bible says God has first loved us despite our sins and weaknesses, hence he sent his only begotten son to die for our sins,†Rev Aaron said.
With his sermon on Mathews 5: 43 which reads “you have heard that it was said, ‘Love your neighbuor and hate your enemy, ‘ But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, that you may be children of your Father in heaven,†Rev.
Aaron highlighted the importance of loving and forgiving each other notwithstanding their wrong doing.
He thus urged congregants and the community at large to love and forgive one another in an effort to build a peaceful and harmonious Botswana.
