Africa-Press – Botswana. A by-election for Moreomaoto ward in the Boteti West constituency is held on December 6. This follows the death of the area councillor Mr Diagelo Adima who won the 2024 general elections under the Botswana Democratic Party ticket.
Contenders for the now vacant council seat are:
1. Ms Gaolethoo Mabego of the Botswana Democratic Party
2. Mr Mpaphi Dikaelo of the Umbrella for Democratic Change
3. Mr Odirile Basiame of Botswana Congress Party
4. Mr Poloko Gaolebalwe (Independent candidate)
5. Mr Sonda Seepetswe (Independent candidate)
Polling stations for the upcoming by-election will be Moreomaoto Primary School and Menoakwena Mobile Stop.
A total of 545 people had registered to Vote in this polling district or ward.
