Africa-Press – Botswana. The world’s elite young entrepreneurs and game changers will once again convene in Botswana for the Forbes under 30 Summit Africa.

Slated to run from April 23 to 26, this will be Botswana’s second bite at the pie, having successfully hosted the first-ever Forbes under 30 Summit in Africa, last year.

Mr Lenny Tladi, founder and CEO of Kgatleng Meat Ranch, will once again meet other ‘like-minded’ aspiring entrepreneurs from all parts of the world.

Speaking in an interview, he credited the summit for helping him appreciate the importance and power of business networking.

This was a ‘community connected together sharing resources’ he said, adding that it was not only about capital investment but shared ideas, resources and human capital.

“Forbes also taught me that meaningful collaborations can be another easy way of scaling up your business,” he said, cautioning however that one must do due diligence to establish what each party had to offer.

Mr Tladi, said through the summit, the government was introducing local entrepreneurs to the global market and further selling the country as it has many opportunities to offer to investors, and definitely not a money wasting adventure.

“I would just advise Batswana to not see this as a waste of time and money but rather as an opportunity to learn, imitate, grow, interact, develop and sustain,” he said.

He however sees the gap between local and international delegates as a major challenge in building relationships, since they do not operate at the same level, but said it was all about vision.

He revealed that he had meaningful networking opportunities and was amazed by the innovative ideas, solutions and services offered by the local entrepreneurs and he was still engaging them.

Mr Tladi further said he met the CEO of a company based in Dubai which specialises in the mechanisation of farm operations maximising efficiency, while reducing workload and expenses, adding they remained in touch and still offered advice.

“Another connection was with a gentleman who is part of a global cooperation that invests in soya bean production, which is one of the key ingredients in animal feed formulation and Botswana imports tonnes of it annually,” he said, adding there were many opportunities yet to be tapped.

He said he was looking forward to scaling up his business operations with the experience he gained from the previous Summit, adding he was now also well positioned to attract capital investment.

Mr Tladi further wants to learn how to operate a business at a global level and how to effectively decentralise power and control within his business.

“I aspire to use the Forbes platform to give my business the liquidity it needs and expand,” he said.
