Africa-Press – Botswana. Botswana National Olympic Committee (BNOC) board member, Boineelo Hardy has rejected Botswana Democratic Party (BDP) appointment into the Sports and Creative Arts Sub Committee, within the central committee.
BDP leader, President Mokgweetsi Masisi wrote an appointment letter to Hardy last week for her to be secretary of the sub committee. The sub committee is chaired by Raj Rathedi.
In her letter, Hardy said she could not accept the appointment as she is a board member of the BNOC. Hardy is the BNOC second vice president. “The BNOC requires me to be apolitical as espoused by the Olympic Charter,” Hardy said in her response to the President.
