Africa-Press – Botswana. Former vice president Slumber Tsogwane has said that he will no longer engage in active politics in the event that he loses the current election.
The counting of votes is still going on in Rakops Junior School and Tsogwane was trailing the UDC parliamentary candidate Sam Digwa by a large margin. As at 8: 28 am, Digwa had garnered 5149 votes while Tsogwane had 3189 votes. Thomas Kgethenyane of the BCP is in third position with 1351 votes.
He said: “If I lose this election I will never engage in active politics again. I also want to congratulate in advance in the event he wins this race.” About 20 ballot boxes are yet to be counted.
