Africa-Press – Botswana. The state visit of the President of India seeks to strengthen existing bilateral relations between Botswana and India and explore areas for enhanced cooperation in health, education, agriculture, mining, trade and investmen

A press release from the Office of the Presidents says President Droupadi Murmu, will undertake a state visit to Botswana from November 11 to 13 at the invitation of President Advocate Duma Boko.

The release says Botswana and India established diplomatic ties in 1966 and enjoy friendly relations and cooperation across various sectors of the economy.

It says the strategic partnership has resulted in a number of milestones, especially in the diamond industry, where India remains one of Botswana’s biggest diamond buyers.

During her time in Botswana, Ms Murmu will hold bilateral talks with President Boko.

She is also scheduled to address Parliament and will further visit key sites in Botswana, including the Diamond Trading Company, where she will appreciate Botswana diamonds, the Three Dikgosi Monument as well as the Mokolodi Nature Reserve, where Botswana will hand over a donation of eight cheetahs to India.
