Africa-Press – Botswana. Member of Parliament for Okavango West, Mr Kenny Kapinga says it takes a united leadership to advance the lives of those that they serve, doing so with love, respect and diligence and not on the basis of one’s economic status or ethnic background.

He said government officers, community and political leaders should work together to advance the district. Addressing a kgotla meeting in Etsha 13 yesterday, Mr Kapinga said vulnerable members of the society should be prioritised.

“The country is now under a new administration which values human rights, something that I do too,” Mr Kapinga said adding that the Okavango District had been marginalised in terms of development and therefore expected change from government..

He said the country was facing economic challenges and that might affect implementation of new projects.

Kgosi James Sivako of Etsha 13 said the village deserved an upgraded clinic so that it could better serve the residents and surrounding settlements. He pleaded that accommodation for public officers among them police and teachers should be attended to.
