Mamelodi launches 'Protecting The Game' today

Africa-Press – Botswana. The wait for former Botswana Football Association (BFA) CEO, Ashford Mamelodi’s memoir, ‘Protecting The Game’ is over, as the book launch takes place this evening.

The book delves into Mamelodi’s decade-long reign at the BFA, between 1989 and 2000, revealing the behind-the-scenes everyday challenges and triumphs. The launch takes place at Setlhoa village starting at 6pm with invited guests able to purchase a signed copy at a discounted price. Mamelodi remains one of local football’s recognisable faces and recently led the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations bid. He also had a lengthy stint as a FIFA development officer.

“I felt there was a lot that I learnt and experienced during my decade-long stay at the House of Football in Botswana that needed to be shared, including with those in the current and future leadership of the game,” Mamelodi told in a previous interview.
