MASISI URGES WOMEN TO UPLIFT ONE ANOTHER

Africa-Press – Botswana. Women have been dissuaded from creating barriers between themselves but unite and uplift one another.

Speaking during the annual conference of Revelation Blessed Peace Church, women’s wing in Tobane on Saturday, First Lady Ms Neo Masisi called on women to change their mindsets and support each other in various endeavors.

The First Lady encouraged women to change their thinking patterns and approach in order to in order to realise their goals.

She also advised women to support and elevate each one other as that could greatly reward them in future.

“If you get some help extend the same to another woman who needs it. It’ll help you grow,” said Ms Masisi.

On an individual level, she challenged women to engage in self-affirmation saying women should remind themselves daily that they were beautiful and wonderfully made.

This belief, she said, would propel women into achieving their targets and effecting change in the communities they stayed and operated from.

“Believe in yourselves and above all pray every day,” said the First Lady who said that the theme Many Women Do Noble Things, But You Surpass Them All, resonated well with women’s personal self-reflection.

As a result, Ms Masisi urged the attendees of the Revelation Blessed Peace Church to, post the conference, hold their heads high and and walk with a sense of purpose.

The First lady said her acceptance of the invitation to attend the conference was chiefly to give wings to the attendants so they could fly.

Acknowledging the many challenges women faced in the society, Ms Masisi highlighted the importance of women recognising for the role they play particularly in fighting social ills perpetrated by young people.

To this, the First lady challenged women of faith to read adequately about women in the bible and emulate their deeds to effect the change they sought in their societies.

Speaking at the same event, Assistant Minister of Agriculture who is also MP for Mmadinare, Mr Molebatsi Molebatsi emphasised the need for women to unite especially in their pursuit of political office.

“Men find it advantageous to stand against a woman for a political office because they know that women will vote for them and voting against one of their own in process,” he said.

Mr Molebatsi who hastened to clear that he was not triggering war against men said women should unite and not rely on special dispensations that seek to benefit the disadvantaged.

The MP also appealed to women to desist from sowing seeds of discord in their church.

At the same conference, senior minister Ms Kedireng Kepaletswe called on young women and men to brace their church. She said majority members of the church were adults who were largely women. Women and youth contributes 60 per cent of the church membership.

The church which takes pride that prides in its women empowerement initiatives has 10 women ministers with Ms Kepaletswe being the only senior minister.

Consequently, the church believes it is successfully implementing mindset change, with women leading in the five regions under the leadership of its founder Prophet Matlho Dichaba.
