Africa-Press – Botswana. The Ministry of Sport and Arts Tlokweng office visited Tlokweng Junior Secondary School to motivate students to explore their talents. The goal was to show learners that their abilities can create real opportunities and help them earn a living. The session encouraged students to recognise their strengths and take active steps toward developing them.

Programmes Officer 1, Ms Phio Pule, led the engagement. She energised the learners with a local success story of Tumiso Lekone, a young poet from Kgosikgosi Primary School. Tumiso already earns money through her writing. Her story showed students that hard work and talent can lead to real income at a young age. It also showed that creative skills are valuable and worth developing.

The event included live demonstrations. Students displayed their skills in poetry, choreography, comedy, the traditional mogolokwane and football. This allowed their peers, teachers and MoSA officials to see the depth of talent in the school. It also helped the learners gain confidence by performing in front of others.

Ms Pule encouraged all students to step forward and register their talents. She advised them to visit the MoSA Tlokweng office or speak with their teachers to access opportunities. She explained that many chances exist for young people who are willing to show their abilities. Her message focused on taking initiative, staying committed and using available support systems.

School Vice President Manna Kgosiemang closed the event with a vote of thanks. He expressed appreciation to MoSA for offering a platform that helps students discover and grow their skills. He noted that such programmes motivate learners and open new paths for personal development.

The visit highlighted the importance of nurturing young talent. It showed that students can turn their skills into real opportunities when they receive guidance and support. The Ministry’s engagement will likely inspire more learners to take their gifts seriously and work toward their goals.
