Africa-Press – Botswana. In an effort to invest back into the community, Madam Queen Modelling Agency has donated 332 winter clothing items worth P36 398 to less privileged children aged between two and seven years in Kumakwane.
The founder of the agency, Ms Queen Kolobe said in an interview on August 1 that the clothing items were from The HUB and CB Stores,.
This, she said was part her agency’s social responsibility of giving back to the community to help relief the less privileged from cold during the winter season.
Kumakwane Ward Councillor, Ms Winnie Cassim and Goo Bothapapelo ward elder, Ms Lorato Thakadu received the clothing items at Kumakwane kgotla on behalf of Kumakwane social workers.
“Through the help of our social work office, these items will reach their destined beneficiaries, and we believe that this is the start of a strong relationship between our office and Madam Queen Modelling Agency, that will in the future benefit our less privileged children in our community,” councillor Cassim said.
She also said government was thankful to organisations that had stretched out their hand to help provide for the needy within their respective communities.
Madam Queen Modelling Agency was founded by a former model Queen Kefilwe Kolobe 16 years ago to groom and nurture talent of models and artists.
Further, she said the came after she realised that there was talent that needed to be nurtured so that it could recognised by international investors.
Ms Kolobe said the agency also existed to relief the unemployed youth from the streets to save them from falling victims of substance and drug abuse.“I formed this agency not only to nurture talent but to give hope and save unemployed youth from life of the streets by giving them a chance to discover their various talents in arts and entertainment industry cost free.”
Ms Kolobe said as an agency they grew through sponsorship and exposure they got from local and international stores and investors.“In our past record, we have worked with Celebrity World, Kutlwano Magazine, Ministry of Youth, Sports and Culture, and international shops like THE HUB, JB Sports and CB Stores.”
She said one of their longest partnes was Green Chill, who had offerred a place for rehearsal and modelling show station. Currently they were sponsored by f Choppies.
