Africa-Press – Botswana. Mopipi Clinic in Boteti West constituency signals developmental growth, Vice President, Mr Slumber Tsogwane has said.

Officially opening the facility recently, Mr Tsogwane said residents had long wished for a 24-hour health facility that was user friendly to the young and old.

He noted that the clinic would offer a variety of services including child welfare clinic, HIV testing and counseling, general consultation and sexual reproductive health service.

The Vice President implored residents to make use of the clinic and not travel to far away places as Francistown and Orapa to access services available in the village.

He said the clinic would also benefit those residing in the peripheries of Mopipi as well as those in transit en route to Maun as it was strategically located along the road.

He thanked the donor company, World Group of Companies for making a difference in people’s lives noting that the company would be counted among the most important companies in the world.

World Group of Companies chief executive officer, Mr Imran Sardar said their aim was to partner with government in developing the country by providing for the needs of the society.

For her part the Regional Health Management coordinator, Ms Gasebotho Kedikilwe said the clinic would offer an integration of services and would be a 24-hour offering facility for outpatients and maternity services.

Ms Kedikilwe stated that the plan was to increase staff to enable it to fully deliver services.

The clinic currently operates with one doctor, has an ambulance and a standby generator, Ms Kedikilwe said.

Area councilor, Ofentse Gabalathane commended World Group of Companies for establishing a clinic of such magnitude in the village.

He requested Boteti District Council to establish smart stalls in front of the clinic for use by residents.
