Africa-Press – Botswana. Member of Parliament for Mmadinare Constituency, Mr Ketlhalefile Motshegwa has assured Sefhophe residents government’s commitment in efforts to diversify and revitalise the economy.

Mr Motshegwa who is also the Minister of Local Government and Traditional Affairs said the need to revitalise and diversify the economy was a way to a sustainable foundation and economy growth which would help with efforts to tackle persistent national challenges.

He highlighted that some of the national challenges were on health and education sectors, social upliftment programmes and lack of jobs among others, hence the need for government to work around the clock and implement workable means in regards to economic diversification and revitalisation.

Mr Motshegwa underscored the need for public-private partnership in an effort to continuously revitalise and diversify the economy, emphasising cooperation. He said a significant uptake of social upliftment programmes was essential to increased economic diversification and revitalisation of the economy at community level.

“While it is the obligation of the government to diversify and revitalise the economy, measures from the public private partnership will also make a difference toward enhanced continuous sustainable development that will benefit the communities in positive different ways,” he said.
