Africa-Press – Botswana. Office of the President has celebrated the late Senthumoleng Senthumoleng as a beloved colleague and hard working deputy manager of Human Resources.
Colleagues and friends remembered Mr Senthumoleng as a humble, quiet, and diligent leader who brought professionalism and guidance to the ministry.
Ms Goabaone Macdonald, a colleague, reflected on the impact that the deseased had left, stating, ‘a lot can be said of the legacy that Mr Senthumoleng leaves behind as he has impacted a lot of lives and proven to be a wealth of institutional memory, intelligence, mentorship, and a role model to many’.
She further said Mr Senthumoleng’s dedication to reducing grievances and disputes within the ministry, as well as his passion for employee relations and knowledge of relevant regulations, earned him the title of ‘HR of choice’.
His fair leadership and advocacy for every officer, she said, had left a lasting impact on the ministry.
Despite his dedication to his job, Ms Macdonald said Mr Senthu, as he was affectionately called, never talked much about his personal life.
“He was a private man, and many of his colleagues knew very little about him outside of work. But what they did know was that he was a kind and gentle soul, always willing to help those in need and lend a listening ear,” she said.
His passing, she said, served as a wake up call for his colleagues, prompting them to cherish the time they had with each other and to make an effort to truly get to know and appreciate one another.
Ms Macdonald said they also made a vow to never forget the lessons Mr Senthu had taught them, and to carry on his legacy of kindness, dedication, and humility.
Present at the memorial service was permanent secretary in the Ministry for State President, Ms Goitsemang Morekisi among others.
