Africa-Press – Botswana. Huge prospects of growth and expansion lie ahead if the recently signed partnership between Botswana Investment and Trade Centre (BITC) and Global Venture Partners is anything to go by.

The landmark strategic partnership is expected to position Botswana as the heartbeat of Africa’s creative, economic and cultural resurgence.

Global Venture Partners managing director, Mr Josh Wilson was upbeat in an interview on the margins of the recently concluded JCK diamond show in Las Vegas about the opportunities that abounded for Botswana as the company was about to open its Africa headquarters in Gaborone.

Global Venture Partners has been the anchor of exponential growth and dynamism in Dubai for years.

“I was able to see Botswana when I was asked to go speak at the Forbes in Gaborone and was convinced that Botswana has the potential,” he said, adding that the bigger land mass Botswana had and another solid foundational element such as intelligent populace and interesting and dynamic eco-system had made GVP agree to the collaboration.

He said the multi-million-pula multimedia value that GVP would bring forth would among other things, help market Botswana as a leading investment and tourism destination, facilitate infrastructure development, banking and finance, and in many different areas, in sync with the country’s diversification drive.

Already, the partnership has begun to bear fruit, as Botswana’s songstress, Amantle Brown, was recently sponsored through this collaboration to perform at the Billboard event in London, United Kingdom.

Additionally, Mr Wilson was pleased by Botswana’s geographical positioning, situated in the middle of Southern Africa, which he said would allow GVP access to other larger markets on the continent.

“All these, coupled with renewed passion for diversification by President Advocate Duma Boko, motivates us to take the next step,” he said.

BITC CEO, Mr Keletsositse Olebile said Botswana was more than ready to leverage GVP’s rights for massive media assets, such as the Billboard Awards, Rolling Stone, Time, and many others.

According to Mr Olebile, the partnership came at a time when Botswana was embarking on a massive worldwide campaign to promote its natural diamonds and would use GVP as one of the many vehicles and campaign to achieve this objective.
