Africa-Press – Botswana. Francistown residents have said the expected attendance of President Advocate Duma Boko at the crucial Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) encounter between the Zebras and Mauritania will be a symbol of unwavering support for the national team.
President Boko is expected to be in attendance for the AFCON qualifying match in Francistown tomorrow, which is a crucial step in the Zebras’ attempt to qualify for the finals to be hosted in Morocco next year.
Francistown businessman and former Tafic FC chairperson, Carlos Sebina said in an interview that many would see the President’s attendance as a source of inspiration and a reminder of the collective pride.
“The presence of the President at the game will be seen as a catalyst, a spark that ignite the passion and enthusiasm of the crowd, unifying the nation behind their beloved Zebras,” he said.
He said it also demonstrates the importance of supporting the national team and athletes.
Another resident, Modisa Sebitiela said the President’s attendance would indicate that he believed in the team, and that he was standing with the country in this important moment for the nation.
“This is a crucial game in our lifetime as Botswana and in a new era. Therefore, his presence will have a huge impact, especially that he is a new President,” he said.

Ace Kelekwang, a football administrator and a die-hard fan of the Zebras said the President would give fans motivation to cheer even louder for the victory of Zebras.

Somerset Young Fighters coach, Johnson Moisakwena said the attendance of the President would inspire both the players and the supporters.
