Africa-Press – Botswana. President Dr Mokgweetsi Masisi has implored the Moseki family at Rakgomo Ward in Serowe to find comfort in God during trying times.
The President’s words follow the demise of their beloved father figure and mentor Mr Edward Moseki who passed away in 2020. The late was an employee of Water Utilities Corporation and coordinator of Dikgatlhong dam project during the construction phase and building process.
Expressing his sympathy on Thursday, May 23, the President said at the time, he did not have an opportunity to visit the family due to official engagements and therefore, took advantage of being in Serowe to check on them physically rather than through a phone call. President Masisi said it was befitting to convey his heartfelt condolences to the family, noting, ‘”My heartfelt sympathy goes out to all the relatives of the departed soul,” he said.
He said life was full of challenges and that death was a monster that knows no boundaries. Nonetheless, he implored the family to find solace in that it was the will of God.
A family representative, Ms Tebogo Moseki said the late met his demise through a car accident in Mogorosi in the Central District. She said Mr Moseki was into farming at the time. A family elder, Mr Oabile Otukile thanked the President for the visit. He described President Masisi as a loving and caring person with a warm heart. He wished the President could continue with the noble gesture and noted that the visit was a blessing to the family. First Lady Neo, the Minister of Local Government and Rural Development, Mr Kgotla Autlwetse, GaMmangwato regent Kgosi Serogola Seretse, Serowe District Commissioner, Ms Angelinah Leano-Bakoko, Serowe District Council Chairperson Mr Keneilwe Monageng and Serowe District Council Secretary, Mr Mogorosi Kokoro accompanied the President.
