Africa-Press – Botswana. President Dr Mokgweetsi Masisi officiated at the pass-out parade for the second intake of 2022 police officers in Otse on Thursday.
He said it was critical for police officers to command the high-end of critical thinking and possess digital literacy, such as the capacity and ability to track, decipher, analyse, interprete, assess and evaluate electronic communications and content on the internet and social media, so as to be able to map public safety and security risks and threats as well as formulate and execute strategies to deal with them.
He also commended Botswana Police Service leadership for resolute efforts toward achieving gender-balance in recruitment, which comprised 259 male and 241 female officers.
