Africa-Press – Botswana. Selebi Phikwe police are investigating an accident in which a 28-year-old man lost his life after the Ford Ranger van he was driving overturned early Tuesday morning.
Acting Officer Commanding District No.10 Superintendent Oduetse Mosweu said in an interview that the accident occurred around 5am on December 26 after Mmadinare level crossing near Phokoje area.
He said the driver was certified dead on arrival at the hospital whilst the two passengers, women aged between 20 and 34 years were treated for minor injuries and discharged from the hospital on the same day.
Superintendent Mosweu urged motorists to be vigilant and to observe the speed limit to avoid accidents.
Meanwhile he said the police had increased their visibility on the roads until the festive season was over.
He said high way patrols were ongoing throughout the day along Selebi Phikwe-Serule road, Sefhophe-Bobonong road and other major roads in the district, which were prone to accidents.
