Africa-Press – Botswana. Star Light Studio is gearing up to host its 5th annual Youth and Gender event scheduled to take place in Letlhakeng on April 24.
In her address to the media and sponsors on Friday at the National Museum in Gaborone, the director of Star Light Studio, Daisy Botsoba, highlighted that the All Nations Cultural Stars themed event will bring together artists, performers, and cultural enthusiasts from across the region in celebration of culture through fashion.
“This annual celebration serves as a vibrant meeting point for artistic expression, featuring a diverse array of performances, exhibitions, workshops, and networking opportunities,” said Botsoba.
She added that the event sought to cultivate a sense of nation’s pride and unity, while fostering a sense of ownership and pride within the Letlhakeng community. The event, which will be showcasing the rich cultural heritage of Botswana, will feature fashion designers, traditional dance performances, exhibitions of local art and crafts as well as ramp walks featuring talented models.
“Some of them modeled for the Miss Remote Area Development Programme pageant,” said Botsoba. She said their previous event was successful, saying it demonstrated their ability to organise and execute impactful events.
Partner of Star Light Studio and poet, Edwin Moroka expressed gratitude to the studio for its commitment to uplifting the youth and Botswana’s economic growth.
“Giving an effort at impacting lives is better than nothing at all. Star Light Studio’s efforts are remarkably commendable,” said Moroka in his poetic speech at the studio’s press brief urging sponsors to come on board and support the initiative.
Starlight Studio, in partnership with Botswana Association of Local Authorities (BALA) and the Kgomotso Foundation, will host a post-event donation drive, ensuring that the positive effects of All Nations Cultural Stars extend beyond the event, further demonstrating the tangible ways in which the initiative contributes to the betterment of Letlhakeng and its residents.
