Africa-Press – Botswana. Sunshine Property Group has donated P12 500 towards the purchase of 86 pairs of school shoes and socks for the pupils at Ngwatle Primary School in the Kgalagadi North constituency.
When receiving the donation on Friday, the Assistant Minister of Local Government and Rural Development, Mr Mabuse Pule appreciated the concerted and collaborative efforts of benevolent corporate citizens like Sunshine Property Group.
He acknowledged the positive impact such contributions have on the lives of schoolchildren, as they bring smiles to their faces.
“The donation will certainly make a significant difference in the lives of the students at Ngwatle Primary School.
It is encouraging to see companies like Sunshine Property Group taking an active role in improving the educational environment and ensuring that the basic needs of students were, he said.
Mr Pule highlighted that government remained truly committed to the overall development of the nation, including provision of services to remote area communities as broader part of the mandate to ensure inclusive growth.
The assistant minister urged other organizations to replicate the noble gesture which would propel the nation towards the attainment of Vision 2036 pillar of human social development.
The director of Sunshine Property Group, a company that specializes in renting out properties, Mr Shri Sreekatram, said they had undertaken to support the education and well-being of the young minds in the community. He said Ngwatle Primary School, was a place where education thrived and where the future the nation was being molded.
He said students of Ngwatle Primary School lacked one crucial element such as a proper pair of shoes therefore the gesture would help them to gain the dignity they deserved.
“This contribution will undoubtedly have a significant and positive impact on the lives of these young students, ensuring their comfort, safety and overall well-being as they embark on their educational journey,” he said.
He also urged other organisations to come together, and support education so that the country could build a brighter and more prosperous future, not just for Ngwatle Primary School but for other schools in the remote areas.
Mr Lesang Leloba, the acting council secretaty for Hukuntsi District Council, expressed appreciation for the generosity of the Sunshine Property Group.
He also said they were truly humbled by their selfless act of donating 86 pairs of necessary items for the students.
As council, he said the budget to help students was not adequate.
Mr Leloba said the donation would undoubtedly make a tremendous difference in the lives of the students, as they strive to pursue their education and personal growth.
He said it was through the support and unwavering commitment of organizations like the Sunshine Property Group that they were able to create an inclusive and supportive environment for the students especially those who are in need like the Ngwatle Primary School ones.
“These gestures of kindness not only provide essential resources but also reinforce the importance of empathy and compassion within our society,” he said.
